Grand Himalayan Circuit

This 17-day trans-Himalayan journey blends the charm of Himachal Pradesh, the rugged beauty of Spiti Valley, the cultural richness of Dharamshala–Dalhousie, and the legendary Manali–Leh highway into one unforgettable expedition. Starting from Chandigarh, the route slowly ascends through the colonial lanes of Shimla, apple-laden slopes of Narkanda, and the serene temples of Sarahan before entering the breathtaking Baspa Valley, home to Sangla and Chitkul—the last village of India.

From the lush green Kinnaur belt, the landscape transforms dramatically as you enter Spiti Valley. Ancient monasteries like Tabo, Dhankar, and Key, high-altitude villages such as Hikkim, Komic, and Langza, and the spectacular bridges and passes create a once-in-a-lifetime high-mountain experience. Crossing Kunzum Pass and (if open) visiting the surreal Chandratal Lake, the journey continues into the pristine world of Lahaul, accessed via the iconic Atal Tunnel.

The adventure expands further with the cultural warmth of Naggar, the energy of Kullu Valley, and the spiritual calm of Dharamshala and McLeodganj. From Dalhousie and the pine meadows of Khajjiar, the drive loops back toward Lahaul for the final grand stretch—one of the world’s most stunning road journeys—across the high-altitude passes and wide open landscapes of the Manali–Leh Highway.

With turquoise lakes, 16,000 ft passes, desert plateaus, ancient monasteries, and Himalayan villages, this expedition concludes in Leh, leaving you with lifelong memories of India’s most iconic mountain circuit.
